Important Conference
November 18, 2019
Without question, Alzheimer’s and other dementia diseases are the biggest challenge facing our healthcare system in Canada and Quebec today. Given current trends from an aging population and the impact of longer life spans, we will see a doubling of the current number of Alzheimer’s and dementia cases in the next 12 years.
The healthcare systems in most if not all Canadian provinces cannot keep up with demand for healthcare services now, particularly for spaces in full care or nursing home residential facilities. And the situation will only become worse, significantly worse as the post WW2 baby boom generation, now ranging in age from 58 to 73, reaches 80 and 85 years old. This is when we see the onset of much of Alzheimer’s and dementia disease.
What can we do in the face of this challenging outlook? There are community organizations that provide very significant support to Montreal families dealing with Alzheimer’s and dementia. One of the most important of these organizations is the Alzheimer’s Society of Montreal.
On Monday, November 18, 2019, the Alzheimer’s Society of Montreal is presenting its
1st Annual
Barclay
Family Colloquium
This is an exceptional opportunity to learn about living with Alzheimer’s.
Homecare Solutions is proud to be a sponsor of part of this important event. We hope that our clients and community colleagues who share our concern for the care of many of our seniors and their families now and in coming years will attend this important conference.
